Use cases
Four operating contexts where the constraint is coverage per person, and distributed autonomy changes the arithmetic.
Applications
Forward teams are asked to hold awareness over more ground than their organic sensors cover, against threats that are themselves increasingly coordinated. Distributed formations extend that coverage without extending the number of people exposed to hold it.
Grids, ports, airports, and processing facilities have perimeters measured in kilometres and security staffing measured in people. Fixed sensing covers the fence line; it does not cover the approach.
Border coverage is a coverage-per-officer problem before it is a detection problem. The terrain is long, the crossings are unpredictable, and the sensing that exists is fixed where the activity is not.
In the first hours after an event, the constraint is information: which areas are affected, which routes are passable, and where people are. Responders make consequential decisions on a picture assembled from fragments.
Tell us what you are covering today and where the picture breaks down. We will tell you plainly whether this applies.
